Our Story
Coastal Glo Salon & Spa was founded by Tara Gowen, an Air Force veteran and licensed stylist with over 16 years of experience as a cosmetologist across five states. Tara’s vision was to build more than just a salon—she wanted to create a space rooted in the same core values that guided her military service: Integrity First, Service Before Self, and Excellence in All We Do. At Coastal Glo Salon & Spa, integrity drives everything we do—from how we care for our guests to how we support one another as a team. “Service before self” means that you are our top priority. Every appointment is intentional, every guest is treated with care, and every experience is customized. Our commitment to excellence is reflected in our education-focused culture—from our associate training program to continuous skill-building that ensures we give our best, every time. The name “Coastal Glo & Co.” was inspired by Tara’s deep love for the Lowcountry and the way a beach day leaves you glowing from the inside out. We are where luxury meets laid-back charm—a place to relax, recharge, and leave feeling radiant. We’re not just a salon—we’re an experience.
